(A) 10 years and under solo section (up to 3 minutes) Entry Fee $40 Early Bird $35
(B) 11 years and under solo section (up to 4 minutes) Entry Fee $40 Early Bird $35
(C) 12 years and under solo section (up to 5 minutes) Entry Fee $45 Early Bird $40
(D) 13 years and under solo section (up to 5 minutes) Entry Fee $45 Early Bird $40
(E) 14 years and under solo section (up to 5 minutes) Entry Fee $45 Early Bird $40
(F) 16 years and under solo section (up to 7 minutes) Entry Fee $50 Early Bird $45
(G) 18 years and under solo section (up to 12 minutes) Entry Fee $60 Early Bird $50
(H) Open solo section (up to 15 minutes) Entry Fee $70 Early Bird $65
(I) Orchestral Excerpts section Entry Fee $35 Early Bird $30
(J) 14 years and under flute ensemble section for 2 or more flutes (up to 6 Minutes) Entry Fee $40 Early Bird $35
(K) Open flute ensemble section for 2 or more flutes (up to 6 Minutes) Entry Fee $45 Early Bird $40
REQUIREMENTS
- to perform 2 contrasting pieces by different composers within the time limit.
For the (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E) sections
Piece 1) solo flute piece or study from a list A work out of any of the Series 3 AMEB exam books.
Piece 2) solo flute and piano piece. Either a single movement or full piece as long as it fits within the time limit.
For the (F) and (G) sections
Piece 1) solo flute piece or study composed without any piano accompaniment.
Piece 2) solo flute and piano piece. Either a single movement or full piece as long as it fits within the time limit.
For the (H) section
Piece 1) Set work: New solo flute piece composed by Lachlan Skipworth. Sheet music will be emailed to all entrants by mid March 2022 in preparation. Date TBC
Piece 2) solo flute and piano piece. Either a single movement or full piece as long as it fits within the time limit.
For the (J) and (K) sections
2 contrasting pieces for flute ensemble by different composers. Either a single movement or full piece as long as it fits within the time limit.
Ensembles can include 2 or more flute players with no limit on numbers.
For the (I) section
Excerpts will be emailed on Friday 15th April 2022 in preparation.

*Excerpts for Open Excerpts section will sent Friday 15th April 2022
*Entry fee includes performance with the competition accompanist on the day. Rehearsals can be organised in advance at the performer’s own expense. Contact details provided upon entry.
*A copy of the parts and score for each piece is required to be emailed by Friday 15th April 2022 for the adjudicators to follow on the day. No photocopied music is to be used during performances. You must perform from an original copy of your performance repertoire and provide the Accompanist with the original piano part to play prior to the start of the start of your section.

To promote and encourage developing flute players to excel by giving opportunities to perform and challenge themselves. From beginners to advanced players and children to adults and even solos and ensembles, there is a section for everyone.
